Privacy Policy

Football Pickoff is a private-league football pick’em service. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we use and why.

Information we collect

We may collect your name, email address, league membership and role, invitations, weekly picks and score predictions, and messages you send to Football Pickoff Support. Our hosting and security systems also process technical information such as IP address, device/browser details, request data, and security events. Football Pickoff may store shortened or hashed security identifiers rather than a raw IP address for certain abuse-prevention records.

How we use it

We use this information to create and secure accounts, operate private leagues, save picks, calculate standings and results, send transactional email, provide support, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and maintain the reliability of the service.

For one selected league, Football Pickoff may keep a short-lived operational activity log, such as successful sign-ins or that picks or a tiebreaker were updated. These activity entries are kept for up to 48 hours and do not store the teams selected in picks or the predicted tiebreaker scores.

Cookies and similar technology

Football Pickoff uses cookies that are needed for sign-in, session continuity, and security. Cloudflare may also use security-related cookies when protecting the site. Football Pickoff does not currently add advertising cookies, cross-site behavioral tracking, or non-essential marketing trackers.

Service providers and sharing

We use service providers that help run Football Pickoff, including Kinsta for hosting, Cloudflare for security and content delivery, Resend for transactional email, and Google Workspace for support and reply email. Information is shared with these providers only as needed to provide those services. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. We may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect the service, users, or others.

Retention and your choices

We keep information for as long as reasonably needed to operate the service, preserve appropriate league and invitation history, maintain security, and meet legal obligations. Some information is removed when an account, league, or support conversation is permanently deleted; other limited records may remain where needed for administration, security, or record integrity.

You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with your account by emailing mike@footballpickoff.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and some information may be retained where permitted or required by law. Additional rights may apply depending on where you live.

Geographic availability and children

Football Pickoff is offered only to users accessing the service from the United States, Canada, Mexico, or Taiwan. Access from other countries may be blocked. The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly seek personal information from children under 13.
